It's not illegal but who does it? You need something to protect your Kindle and maximize its functionality.I purchased this rooCase to go with my new Kindle Fire because I noticed that it was much less expensive than the Marware case that Amazon had been promoting. The case is not perfect but for the price I feel it is a good deal. It offers everything I could want: functionality, protection for my Kindle and a good price. Quality: The quality is pretty good. The leather does not appear to be quite as good as the leather that is on my lighted Kindle cover for my Kindle keyboard. But it is still respectable and does not look cheap. Functionality: Here is where this case really shines. Most of the other cases can only stand the Kindle fire horizontally. The rooCase can stand it horizontally and vertically. It is designed to let me use my Fire on the stand vertically and horizontally - nice concept but doesn't work well. 2. It has a sleeve inside the case which can be removed to read or for any other purpose - excellent concept. 3. Reasonably thin. It does add a little bulk and makes the Kindle slightly heavier but I can live with that. Most cases would probably do that given the weight of the Fire itself. 4. The Fire fits in like a glove. Charger, headphone, etc are all easily reachable and the speakers are left open too. CONs: 1. Material is not leather. The material is sticky on the fingers. Leather would be smooth. May be it will become smooth over time who knows but it's definitely not leather. Still, not a deal breaker. 2. The magnets are too weak causing the front flap to open up easily. I'm afraid...
